Let’s gather here fans of emulator gaming, You will be happy to know that TouchHLE a brand new Android emulator now supports playing iOS games for free.
This new update and features have rolled out and if you are an existing user, you can simply update the app but if you are a new user, you can download and install the app file on your Android from GitHub or their official website here. Also note, for you to be able to use the emulator, it requires an Android with at least 4GB RAM, and an AArch64 processor to enjoy all its features.
This is the first release of the emulator and new updates and improvements are being made by the developer, as this is the primary stage, the emulator may not support a wide range of mobile games but you can play games like Mystery Mania, Wolfenstein 3D smoothly without any issues. The new changes made to the emulator are
- PVRTC and paletted texture compression now working
- The emulator now runs at 120Hz
- App icons or games have been redesigned to a rounded shape
- Memory usage and allocator now runs faster
- Now support accelerometer feature
- Full-screen mode enabled
- The emulator now uses OpenGL ES 1.1 driver for better graphics rendering
- New control input (button-to-touch)
The emulator is at its early stage and few fixes and updates have been made. It also supports good games like Fastlane Street Racing, Mystery Mania, Wolfenstein 3D, and Many old apps by Donut Games. It also runs at 120Hz which most Android emulators can’t operate, so you can expect good performance when playing your favorite games. The emulator also allows the use of an accelerometer for devices that support the feature and the full screen has been enabled to give you a wide-screen gaming experience.
An early stage emulator needs to undergo a lot of fixes and the developer is keen on fixing those issues reported by gamers. The emulator only supports a few games but in the next upcoming update which is 0.2.1, the developer may add more compatibility for iOS games. It’s not always easy to create an emulation application but with patience and support from users, TouchHLE may be a successful project for the developer.
