Job Description
As a Programmer I, your primary responsibility will be to write, test, and maintain software programs using various programming languages and technologies. This may involve developing new software applications, modifying existing ones, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Some specific duties and responsibilities of a Programmer I may include: * Writing code in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript * Designing and developing software applications, including games, mobile apps, and web applications * Testing and debugging software to ensure it meets specifications and functions correctly * Collaborating with other developers, designers, and project managers to ensure software meets requirements and deadlines * Staying up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies * Participating in code reviews and providing feedback to improve the quality of software * Troubleshooting and resolving software defects and errors
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidate must possess a B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent professional qualification from a recognized Institution with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
- Candidate must have at least two (2) years cognate experience.
Conditions of Service
- The appointment is initially for a probationary period of two (2) years, which may be confirmed until retirement age.
- Salary is competitive, following the Consolidated University Academic and Non-teaching Salary Structure.
- Other conditions are as per the approved Conditions of Service by the Governing Council of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos.
